The Relationship between deadline and effeciency of work!

At the fag end of the apping season, I have made what I consider an important observation.

There is a very direct relationship between the time one has upto a deadline and the effeciency of his work. After observing a sizable population of test subjects, I have come to the conclusion that

The difference in magnitude between the time now (To) and deadline (Tt) is inversely proportional to the Efficiency of working (Ew).

I therefore postulate,

Tt - To α 1/Ew

This postulate holds true for any situation, any age group, location, sex and mental frame of thought!

Its true in the case of my SOP. Got it done in one single day when I had more than a year to do it!! Take that!! What say u guys??

Well...talking mathematically...

The term on LHS - (Tt - To) i.e. the time b'fore deadline is a constant is'nt it? How can it vary with 1/'work efficiency'.

Putting it in words...
No matter with what efficiency one works, a given deadline is not going to change. Wat may change is - when one actually finishes the work.

Also...rearranging ur statement to say that ...
Work Efficiency α 1/(Tt - To) seems correct mathematically.

But...
Even this which implies that irrespective of the person under consideration the work efficiency increases with decreasing (Tt-To) may not hold good in every case. Some people may work efficiently when lot of time is available and some may give best results working at the 11th hour.

Finally....
Your observation does'nt seem to be internally consistent:
'The difference in magnitude between the time now (To) and deadline (Tt) is inversely proportional to the Efficiency of working (Ew).' &
'Got it done in one single day when I had more than a year to do it!!'

^ Tt-To is not constant as it becomes smaller and smaller as we approach Tt.
