1. Edulix Research Report: Technology Trends in Top US Engineering Programs
Often the specific areas where leading US engineering programs recruit
new faculty to lead research and instruction give an indication of
current and future technology trends in the US and the rest of the
world. While market forces, world geopolitical developments and the
political environment in the US may have a continually shifting bearing
on how these trends affect the job market on a short-term basis, the
long-term benefits of following these trends to help plan one's career
objectives could be rewarding.
In this research report, we follow trends in new faculty recruitment in
leading US engineering programs in 2003.

2. GRE Issues
Beginning October 1, 2002, the General Test will be composed of verbal,
quantitative, and analytical writing sections. The verbal and
quantitative sections will not change. The analytical writing section
will be identical to the Writing Assessment that was introduced in
October 1999; it will contain 2 tasks requiring written responses. The
analytical section used in previous tests will no longer be a part of
the General Test.
