1) Our New Partners
Please welcome our new partners, University of Southern Queensland and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
a) University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
Edulix and the University of Queensland have reached an understanding where the University of Southern Queensland will offer application fee
waiver for 5 (five) students who are members of the Edulix community. Applicants should directly send their completed application materials
to the University of Queensland. Only when they have submitted a completed application material directly to the university, applicants should send
e-mail to our scholarships department at [scholarships@edulix.com
] with the heading "USQ Application". Edulix will then work directly with the university to confirm that the applicant is Edulix community member. As
per our memorandum of understanding with the university, the first 5 completed applications will receive application fee waiver.
We wish potential applicants success and express our thanks to USQ, which has generously offered these opportunities.

b) Nanyang Technological University (Singapore)
Edulix and the Nanyang Technological University have reached an understanding where NTU will offer application fee waiver for 5 (five)
students who are members of the Edulix community. Applicants should directly send their completed application materials to NTU. Only when

] with the heading "NTU-Singapore Application". Edulix will then work directly with the university to

2) New Partnership with B2B Service Provider - ServiceByNet
Edulix Partners with B2B services market place, ServiceByNet to enable members bid on projects across the globe.
Edulix members wishing to gain valuable experience in writing and debugging programs, transcribing, translating documents, designing and
building web-sites and interact with customers across the globe can now do so and earn money through the Online Bidding Marketplace for
Services, ServicesByNet. Interested Edulix community members can go to ServiceByNet's web site and register as either buyers or sellers of
freelance services. ServiceByNet is currently marketing its freelance services marketplace to college students across the US.

1) TA, RA, Scholarship & Post-Doc Opportunities Alert
The following opportunities are currently available for Fall 2000.
TA/RA Assistantships
1) RA Position in EE at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
ME and EE candidates with genuine interests in the MEMS (Microelectr0-Mechanical Systems) field and proper background are
welcome to apply. Projects will involve micro fabrication of surface and bulk micromachined sensors and actuators. Contact Prof. Chang Liu

2) University of Washington
Dr. Vikram Jandhyala of the Electrical Engineering Department of U Washington has RA available starting Fall 2000. Preference is given to
students interested in pursuing a PhD in computational electromagnetics, however MS students are also encouraged. Research areas include
applications of Computational Electromagnetics in signal integrity, high-speed circuits and devices, rough surfaces and random media, and

3) Western Kentucky University

3) Useful Hints in Using Edulix Services
In response to the most popular requests in Edulix message boards that involve short-listing of universities and their various programs for
would-be applicants, some of our expert panels are working on comprehensive information package that list details of programs,
available teaching and research assistantships, application fees and reputations.
Currently, a comprehensive package for applicants to electrical engineering programs is available. Click here to access the list.
Similar packages are under preparation for Computer Sciences, Business, Bio-Informatics, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Thanks to you, the community members, Edulix is right on track in increasing its registered membership to the critical 10,000 mark by
