Hi Seniors,

Please help me to reduce my bucket of Universities. I want to apply in 4 Ambi, 3 Mod and 2 Safe. Please feel free to suggest universities other than my list.

Also I have few questios:

1. I have an AWA of 3, will it be a big problem to get admit from ambitious universities or will 111 in TOEFL (27 Writing) cover that? Should I mention this in SOP?

2. I have a publication in International Conference but the topic of research was related to Electronics and not CS, should I mention that in the SOP or not?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My profile (Updated UniSearch also but mentioning here as well)-

GRE- 326 ( 170 Q 156 V) AWA - 3
TOEFL - 111 (writing 27)
BE in IT - 80% degree from DAVV University ( NAAC A grade university ) {Topper's 85%} I was among top 3 in my class.
Work Experience - 24 Months till April 18, working as JAVA developer in Accenture
Projects - 1 Major: End to End Website development for university's sports department. ( Mainly using PHP and Bootstrap)
2 Minor projects during college ( Both using JAVA )

That's a great profile, well done!
I really hope you meant UCB = Berkeley and UTA = Austin because the other two are really not the colleges you should be looking at with this profile; Boulder maybe worth the consideration but Arlington, NO!

Ambitious -CMU, UIUC, GaTech, UC Berkeley, UT Austin, UC San Diego, UCLA

UPenn - Ambi/Mod [The trick is to apply before Nov 15, their early deadline]

Moderate - UCSB, NCSU, TAMU, Purdue [ Maybe a bit ambitious], UC Davis, UMass Amherst, UMCP, UCI [Erratic decisions last time, would exclude it since you have many (better!) options]

Safe - USC, Stony Brook

Good luck!
