University of Freiburg- MSc Renewable Energy Management - 294aditya - 12-13-2012 06:18 PM

I am interested in pursuing graduate studies in Renewable Energy in Eurpoe

One of the programs I am applying to is MSc Renewable Energy Management, University of Freiburg:

I would really be grateful if anyone with a little idea about this program can share views/experience about how this MSc program is?
This university is ranked 106 in QS world university rankings 2012: http://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2012

But, I am more concerned with how good is the MSc Renewable energy management program at this university.

Also, there is another program: MSc Energy Systems, FH Aachen, please share your views about it too.

Other programs i am applying to are:
1. KTH Sweden, MSc. Sustainable Energy Engineering
2. TU Eindhoven, Netherlands, Msc Sustainable Energy Technology
3. Erasums Mundus SELECT program(KTH)

Everyone's views are welcome.

Hi Aditya
University of Freiburg is really good university, don't look into ranking much because in Germany its doesn't matter.
FH Aachen course is really good one, but you can't do research degree further as its a FH university.
Both KTH and TU/e are really good universities in this field, I'm saying this not that i got admit in these Wink

university of freiberg is one of the oldest German universities and is now one of the nation’s leading research and teaching institutions..its true nobody cares about rankings in germany especially in industry circle.REM course is a five year old course.it is organized by national centre of renewable energy (in german ZEE) in colebration of UniFreiberg and leading research groups . the course content focuses to prepare students for RE industries .if you choose solar enegy, wind energy as your elective then there are very good reserch scope because of ZEE collabration with Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems and Endowed Chair of Wind Energy (SWE) respectively.most of the REM graduates endup in industry because of their choice.
the program is trruly international considering nationality of applicants and faculty.freiberg is a good place to live and study.from my place swiss boarder is just 20 minutes away by train.....

Just received a reject for REM - Uni. Freiburg

"I.e. the CGPA score does not meet the requirements, since the required
grade of 2.0 (German grading system, your grade was therefore
transferred) could not be achieved."

For the record my Aggregate % is 74.5 (VTU)

I have not yet received any email from freiburg. If it goes as you have mentioned here, I might get a reject too! I have a CGPA of 7.3 onlyBrick wall
I passed out from NIT Surat.

Wish you all the best for other applications. What are your plans now? Will you go for HS offenburg?

Hey guys.
I applied this year for the REM in Freiburg and I got the same e-mail of rejection regarding the CGPA. Although I have applied last year and I got a rejection e-mail saying that that I was in the waiting list but I was rejected. So how could I be last year so close to be chosed and this year rejected from the beginning? Any help?
