I had applied for a few doctoral positions at the Institute of Combustion Engines (VKA) RWTH. The last email I received from them was confirmation of the receipt of my postal application (two months ago). I had sent two emails with one month interval to two separate people, but no reply at all. And the job posting seems to postpone deadlines, starting from June (first deadline), to July and now August. Are they really planning to admit students? There are chances that I am rejected, but even after six months they could not find a suitable candidate?

Any information from people working there would be highly valuable.

I have sent the packets last month(feb 2013) for two separate positions at vka.
I have not received any acknowledgement or any information from them.
I also tried calling their chief engineer Dr Martin Nijs but never could get hold of him.
I think I shud start applying for other positions.
