Thank you for your response ... I knew i was in for a 'harsh' reply when i posted that about TAMU Smile ...
Of course am selecting the universities based on a mix of course/post jobs/reputation/cost ... But my perspective about TAMU was already colored i suppose,by one of my friends currently doing his MS from UWash - he mentioned how it was difficult to get part-times/internships in texas area and how even the job scene is bad - due to the large number of Indians there and so on ... Apart from that the hefty sum of 20000Rs just for the application alone is something that i have to get over i suppose(though i understand it is worth that and more as it is one of the cheapest univs)...

Could you please evaluate for the Purdue program and UMCP MSBusiness IS one ??

Well i don't understand your reasoning behind TAMU , i may sound a bit harsh but can you please answer this Question of mine "how are u selecting universities ? is it course /post MS jobs / reputation of the university or is it the no of Indians that makes u zeroing on a university "

As far as my Ken goes Indians are every where , their proportion may differ but they are every where, so forget on those aspects , even for getting the job you have to compete with Indians .

I hope you get my point !

meajmal You want to avoid Indians because you are afraid of competition, this is what I can infer from your posts. Why do you want to do this ?

Thanks,

elton571...It is not that i want to avoid indians , am sorry if i have come out that way ... I understand how a healthy competition helps to shape our career .. But as i told silentKiller, some of my friends warned of too much competition(i do not know in person if such a thing exists),but when people who are already there in US(as in my friends) tell me that such a competition is not good ,i agree my opinion might have got a bit biased by that ... But from your responses,i infer that this is not the right approach to take ...
The disadvantages of TAMU/texas stated in the below post, kind of corroborates what my friends told me about it too-

Thank you seniors for all your help and insights ... I think now it is time to fix a list and start the whole application process ... Programs were selected based on a mix of Cost/Location/Courses/Repute/Post MS Jobs ... 1 Super Ambi(i think),2 Ambis,2 Mod, 2 Safe

Tagging Seniors -mirthychaos,The_Mentalist,Silent_Killer,elton571,Pursue_MSINMIS for their last words and comments ...

Added some significant changes to the list .. Am applying in UCBerkeley(Super Ambi i know) and RPI

Hopefully the Final List
-------------------------
UC Berkeley - Super Duper Ambi (i think)
University of Washington - AMBI
Texas A&M - AMBI
RPI MS IT- MOD
Syracuse MSIM - MOD~SAFE
UIC,Chicago - SAFE
University Of South Florida - SAFE

UMCP MSIS- Pending Evaluation - (MS Business IS,not the MIM one)

Its Mod-Ambi

it requires 75 percentile in both the sections of GRE i.e your Quant and your verbal . you may have more than 75 percentile in Quant how ever i doubt if you have crossed 75 percentile in verbals .

I had that concern , but since the official GRE scores and percentiles would be out only next week kept the program in the list ... I have decided(in a delirium) to apply to UCBerkeley and reintroduced RPI into the list ...

UCBerkeley is probably a SUPER DUPER AMBI for me , but still what is your evaluation for that?

UC-Berkeley would be AMBI for you but yes, people with similar profiles like yours have applied and secured admits. If cost isn't a problem, then do apply. No harm in applying right? Smile

Besides, UC-Berkeley considers a lot of things before taking in students. It isn't just the scores or UG grades. So do apply if you are really interested in their program.

Just getting back to Edulix. Will respond to messages/tags as quickly as I can. Please tag other evaluators for a faster response

Yes. If you could get a letter of that sort, great!

1) Please mention as many details as possible about your academics, research and work-ex, in terms of projects worked on, technologies used, roles/responsibilities handled, papers published/presented, awards/honors obtained, etc. All those have to be put in the misc details section of your UniSearch profile if you expect any help on Edulix. Also, before requesting for profile evaluations, please go through this excellent post.

2) Please take some time out to read these three threads in their entirety. PLEASE do that before asking questions about universities from a comparison perspective, or jobs, or coursework, or H-1B visas, or "placements", irrespective of which univ/department/program/major you're applying to.

I love to read, and then I regurgitate. I write - a lot - as my posts here and on other outlets would show. I do not make apologies for what I write (and how long it is). I do not sugarcoat things either. I don't tolerate vague questions, for any reasons - ignorance arising out of an inability to locate information when the necessary tools to do so (i.e. the internet, libraries, university websites, other forums/bulletin boards, etc.) are readily available, is not any kind of an acceptable excuse.
