Wonderful stuff! Before I sticky it, however, I'd like to ask Dark Knight to see if this thread can be merged into his one on planning the app season, or vice-versa, as he wishes.

1) Please mention as many details as possible about your academics, research and work-ex, in terms of projects worked on, technologies used, roles/responsibilities handled, papers published/presented, awards/honors obtained, etc. All those have to be put in the misc details section of your UniSearch profile if you expect any help on Edulix.

2) Please take some time out to read this and this thread in their entirety. PLEASE do that before asking questions about universities from a comparison perspective, or jobs, or coursework, or H-1B visas, or "placements", irrespective of which univ/department/program/major you're applying to.

I think more threads can be included in the "Before GRE" section.. There are good threads on Mech and IE here too.

I do not exist. So don't bother tagging me or sending PMs. I am so busy now that it took me 6 months to change my signature.

This Can also be added in "During the college Days" section.

Please PM me first for SOP review instead of sending the whole SOP in PM.Helps me to help you better.
Kindly tag me for my response.

I think of not to merge this thread as that of Dark knight would be a strategy plan and this would be as a reference I hope.
I also request to give answers to my doubts in dotted list so that I can update further.
Tagging seniors theou huios, Dark Knight, The_Minuteman, greprepin, rudran88.
Sorry if I have missed any of them.Request to tag other relevant seniors.

Yes I agree with you but as a ECE guy I would focus on the specializations I have mentioned at the start.

Updated....Thanks for the contribution!!!!

The_Minuteman, We could send a welcome mail/PM to newbies proving a link to such threads. This will avoid unnecessary threads and make things more convenient.

Evolution

I think I will hold off until this has been frozen in terms of content and then we can take a call on whether to send this out with the welcome mail. I think it should not be too much of a problem to do that.

What do you think?

This needs to be planned out, but not on this thread. Let's take this offline?

1) Please mention as many details as possible about your academics, research and work-ex, in terms of projects worked on, technologies used, roles/responsibilities handled, papers published/presented, awards/honors obtained, etc. All those have to be put in the misc details section of your UniSearch profile if you expect any help on Edulix.

Good thread. I don't think that Telecom thread needs to be in here. It doesn't have much information. I would prefer someone from Fall 2013 or Fall 2014 taking up an initiative to do a write up on various Telecom Programs and their strengths and weaknesses in one thread.

Wonderful thread! I believe this w'd serve to be a perfect A to Z type of thread. While what I compiled in the Application related thread was just one part of the big picture, this would be more of a comprehensive one with all related links.

~Back to work~Expect a delayed response to my tags/PM's.

I may not subscribe to threads. Tag me using @[Dark Knight] to get my attention.

Post all IE specific queries here. Please read the first post for various specializations and Information on IE at different Univ's. All about Georgia Tech here.
