Do we get a notification from bank when we transfer the blocked amount? How will one know that the amount is credited in blocked account?

You will get the first email from DB containing the account number and other details.
A few days after transferring the blocked amount, you get another email from DB stating that they have received the funds. Note that you will not get this email if you transfer anything less than 8090 Euros. The print out of the second email is required for the Visa interview.

I have already received account details already for blocked account. I asked uni-assist to transfer my balance to that account only. As it was only 98 euros, I think I didn't get any mail.
Thanks for the info.

nimbus_2000 , Hi

I sent my DB form alongwith a friend's, two individual packets, sent in one big packet, as one single courier. In 5-6 days he got a confirmation regarding the account opening. One of my other friend, who sent his DB form separately, some 4-5 days after we sent it, also got the confirmation of the account opening.

I am kind of worried, as what could have delayed my application, as the one with whom I sent has received confirmation.
Can you shed some light on this?

Thanks.

I was in a similar fix. My friends who had sent their forms with me had all received it within a few days but I received my email a week after them. So I would recommend that you wait for a few more days (Also tomorrow is a holiday in Germany). If you still did not receive your email by then, it is better that you send them an email.

Thanks. I will wait for this weekend and probably Monday. Because my friend got it on 22-23 May. Let's hope it comes soon.

Hi, nimbus_2000
referring to my earlier post, I still haven't got any confirmation from DB. My friend got his account opened on 23 may. I have sent them 2 emails regarding the same, the first one a week before and second one yesterday. I even called them yesterday on the helpline number, but they refuse to tell anything on phone.

You said you were in similar situation. Did you also send your form along with your friends' in the same packet?
I am worried as the whole process is stuck. What do you suggest? Please help me.
thanks.

I think it is better if you can contact them or send them the documents again.
If you think it is not possible to get it opened before the VI, then a good option would be to open it in the local DB branch. In that case, you wouldn't have to get the attestation again.

I forgot to tell you. Also check the Spam of your email account.
Sometimes the emails from DB land there.

Hey, thanks. I got it yesterday. Actually the date mentioned on the pdf is of 22nd may, the same date when my friend got it. But they emailed me yesterday. Don't know why they delayed it, but finally got it. I contacted them using the contact form. May be then they realized that they hadn't emailed me....Dunno what was the issue.

Thanks a lot...Very Happy

As per DB form, I will get 670 Euro per month from my blocked account. My question is what if I need more than that ( e.g. in Berlin 700-750 Euro roughly) . Should I increase blocked amount accordingly ( sum>8040Euro) or am I free to use other banks' card to manage my expenses ?

Appreciate your help. Thanks.

Best Regards,
Mumba.

Mumba only 670 Euros is blocked amount for each month and if you deposit more than 8040 Euros in DB account, you can withdraw that extra amount anytime you need.

Mumba

You mean in the case when the Visa is rejected or after going to Germany?
