yes, they open slots, and since its the christmas time and they have holidays, chances are there that it may not change for 2-3 days. but you can try each night for the status.

Thank you for the reply.I wanted to ask another question that,i need to submit my 10th and 12th marksheet to the university during registration and they have asked for certified documents. So ,i asked them ,would the certification in the german embassy be enough. They have replied as yes.So ,now my doubt is that, when can i certify the documents.

1.)Can i certify them during the course of the visa interview by telling them that my university has asked for the certification
2.) Whether i need to fix a another appointment for the same or whether walk in for the attestation section and ask them about it and get it certified with them?

please guide me with the same..Thank you.

yes the attestation from embassy will work..
but go for the easy way, which will save your time (and efforts too)..
go to any notary office, people who make rent agreement etc. and ask them for attestation and tell them you need the document to be notarized. make sure they put two stamps, i. notary stamp (usually with the registration num), ii. true copy stamp (a.k.a. attested stamp)..
they might also charge, but again its not that much amount.

Hello,
In the thread of German Visa 2013 in Edulix,i had posted the same question regarding the visa appointment through the website for mumbai,in that one guy who had emailed to the Mumbai German Embassy had received a reply that the whole application process will be done through VFS global alone and not anymore through the separate online site and also this will come into effect after Jan 1st and till then the office is closed. I just required a confirmation of the same from someone else who might have received such a response from the embassy.

Also,if it has to be done through VFS global,
1.) Can anyone guide with the application process for VFS global in Mumbai?
2.) How should I fix an appointment in VFS global Mumbai?
3.) Do i need to take any extra documents and Xerox apart from the ones required for the German Long Term Visa process?
4.) My university has asked for certified documents of my graduation and Schooling and said the the certification by the embassy is fine, so is certification equivalent to attestation which is done by the german embassy itself?
(or)
Is the certification done by the visa officer itself while verifying my documents with the original documents?
5.) Can the certification or attestation done after the visa interview?

Please answer the queries by confirming it with someone who has already gone through the process.

Please guide me.

Yup. From next year onwards, they are outsourcing the process to VFS.
Regarding the process, I think very few would have gone through the process. You can check through the Chennai consulate Visa experiences. The process should be similar as VFS has been in charge of the process there since some years.

Is it mandatory to show the Proof of Financial Means in the form of Deutsche Bank Letter, as mentioned in the first post?

Or a loan sanction letter from the bank is enough? given as one of the proof of financial means in the DAAD website as well.

https://www.study-in.de/en/--11859

point no.3. Bank guarantee.

Since the bank I approached is reluctant to disburse the amount to my acc. The manager says that they only give a sanction letter for all students who avail a bank loan from their bank.

It depends on the consulate and the Visa officer. I have heard of people getting the the Visa approval by just showing the sanction letter. But this might not always work. Some consulates may ask you to show the blocked account confirmation before the stamping.

It seems that making an online appointment is not possible through the link mentioned in this thread. It is valid for Schengen Visa only.
For long term visa this is stated on Mumbai consulate website:
Applicants can book an appointment for National Visa (Long Term) through our Helpline number: 022-67866013 or by writing us an e-mail at info.germanin@vfshelpline.com.

Yes. From this year onwards, they have outsourced all the student visa application to VFS. It should be a similar process to the one followed in Chennai.

MS in Germany Fall 14 visa doubt

I am a student of Mumbai University (BE Mech).I have just completed my 8th sem exams and will get d results in the month of July (end). The question I have is can I sit for the visa interview without d 8th sem marksheet and giv it later to them once I get it. I have asked some people and have got contradicting replies. So it would be grateful if someone can give me a suggestion on this.
Thanks.

Hi,

I got acceptance from Paderborn University for MS in CSE. I have a few queries regarding the visa application process:
  1. Do I need to buy flight ticket to Germany prior to applying for student visa? I mean whether they want to see the same or not. Or whether showing a flight ticket will expedite the process or not.
  2. Am allowed to change university after my visa gets issued? I am expecting reply from few other univs. But due to time crunch I need to apply for visa before I hear from them.

Thanks.

1. No, you don't need to show tickets or even blocked ticket(s) during your visa application and during your VI. You will need them once the consulate calls you to tell the visa decision. Even then, mostly, a blocked ticket is enough rather than the original booked ones.

2. Yes, you can. Its been discussed in this forum. Search through and you will get answers.

EDIT: Missed it earlier, please fill your infobank to its entirety. Add about work experience, research exp, projects, papers and etc., in the misc. details section in the infobank

Do I need to submit notarized/attested photocopy of the documents I am going to submit for student visa application or simple photocopy will do. Will the VO also keep the original documents?

Only photocopies will do. They only keep your degree certificate but that too depend on consulate. In Mumbai they keep only transcripts according to few people who attended VI this month and in Delhi and Bangalore they are keeping Degree certificate. I don't have any info about other consulates though.
