Roy: The Project Management courses and concentration have been blessed by PMI, so they serve as preparatory courses for the PMP certification. In terms of job prospects, most industries I have seen hire IS professionals to work in and run projects, so the skillset developed in these courses is definitely an asset. Do you need 4 courses on project management? That depends. You can get a Graduate Certificate in project management by taking 4 project management courses at Stevens, which you can as part of the MSIS curriculum. That is a nice additional credential to the masters degree. I would recommend this if you already have a strong (say) CS background from the undergraduate side and work experience. Absent those two it may seem strange to an interviewer that you have little work experience and want to become a project manager straight out of school - those jobs mostly require some work experience in a line function. So, if you have little work experience I would say 1-2 project management courses are nice to have and they should be supplemented with either technical or topical (i.e. industry-specific) courses.

Honeyshahi: You can submit the TA form before you arrive on campus, but the hiring decisions are typically made after the start of the semester, so I would not expect to receive a definite job offer prior to that.

Thanks a lot Michael for the advice. Your words seem encouraging. I currently have 5 years of work experience, hence I am eager to improve my skills and knowledge on Project Management part as it would be a good asset to possess along with technical skills.

Hi Sudhir,

I got admit from Stevens in MSIS for Spring 2016 ,I have few questions in my mind.

1) Does joining in Spring will have any effect on finding jobs?
2) Where do students stay when they join Stevens ,how much does it cost for living per month on average if we don't opt for college dorms?

If some one is joining in Spring 2016 ,feel free to contact me at trikha.ishan@gmail.com
Or someone has taken the initiative of creating whatsapp group or facebook page ,include me.

Regards,
Ishan Trikha

If im able to show 47k liquid assets while submitting the application, will i be denied admit?

Hi ankitthescorpion

What is the SOP word limit for Stevens?

Also, regarding the financial documents, Is it compulsory to submit them with the online application or I can do that once, and if I get an admit from Stevens?

I guess you can submit later, it is written in application form (refer below).
-------------------------------------
It is not necessary to have the Financial Verification Form notarized. Note also that if you plan to use your personal funds to cover all of your educational and living expenses while at Stevens, you are not required to submit the Financial Verification Form. (The official bank statement IS still required.)
You may upload the required documents above. However, do not delay submitting your application for admission so that you can obtain these documents. These documents are not required in order for you to receive an admissions decision. Additionally, once you have submitted your application, you will be able to log in to your Status Page and upload them at a later date.
-------------------------------------------

For SOP I have the same doubt.
