Hi,

My info bank link
http://www.edulix.com/unisearch/user.php?uid=324125

I received admit from Stevens and Pace, and I am inclined toward Stevens.
I made a friend from Stevens and I got an opportunity to talk him.
He suggested me to go for Pace, saying that Stevens is expensive.
I20 for Stevens is $56,196 and for Pace is $45,218.
I don’t see much difference here, don’t why he said Stevens is expensive.
I don’t have much info about both universities, with my little knowledge of Stevens I decided to go for MIS program from Stevens.
Pace:
 College is in New York so accommodation becomes expensive. I will have to stay in New Jersey and have to spend more time in transit from college to residence.
 Course is not reputed. Many say that I should not see college ranking as every college gives me a degree and college raking doesn’t make much difference in job interview. But, I don’t buy this argument just to save 10k dollars I don’t want to get into low ranked university.
Stevens:
 Good College in New Jersey and program is also reputed. Don’t have to spend in travelling.
Wanted feedback from seniors on my choice.
My goal is to work in New York with Big banks such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sacs and Big4 consulting firms such as Boston Consulting, Delloite.
I have 5 years of experience in Java Development and I want to become data scientist.
I am from Mumbai and I love Mumbai. I have chosen New York when compared with other states is that I feel New York is much similar to Mumbai in many ways.

I am not quite aware of the differences in the course, oncampus job availability and career centers between the two universities. From a traveling point, the time difference isn't much and train commute expenses will be higher for Pace at around $100/ month.

Hi,

Hope alls well.

I cannot comment much about PACE, but I know that Stevens is a better name and has some sort of campus at least, though i agree its more expensive. Also jobs are better than in PACE, both for graduates and under-graduates.

So overall including placements, internships, reputation, etc., Stevens is much better.

For example, i have worked in the big 4s.

I cant say which one is better but there are some facts you might want to know.

Stevens is better for MSIS
Stevens is next to NYC so jobs and internships are better
Stevens has better job placement
Stevens is well known by companies and is a great name
Yes it is expensive but Stevens has a good ROI

Hi

Yes Stevens is known for its UG. But fortunately the name also makes it beneficial to Grads.

I agree ROI is high for Stevens.. I have read this in couple of articles.. But they all referred to UG.. No where I have seen that Masters grads ROI is good.. You got any idea how is the avg starting package for MSIS grads?

I was waitlisted in IS program at NEU, instead was offered MS in computer systems engg with specialization in IOT.

i have admits from Stevens in MS-IS.

Please suggest. How is computer systems engg course in general compared to IS. i know IOT is "the" field to be now.

Hi

Unfortunately i cannot comment on other colleges and courses but MIS at Stevens, though expensive, has a good ROI and good job and internship opportunities.
