This thread would help people who aspire to take Computational Mechanics, Power Engineering, Manufacturing and Production Masters course in German universities. I will try to give as many details as possible.

Note:

Be wary of the university codes while sending your TOEFL/GRE scores, because different courses of the same university have different ETS codes. So check thoroughly in the course websites (rather than univ websites) before sending your exam scores during/after the exams. You would waste some 2000 bucks for wrong reporting of scores.

Quote:German Language Proficiency:
1. You can apply with the A1 certificate.

2. If you get an admit to the course, you would get a conditional admit stating that you would have to complete B1 and submit the certificate before enrollment. You can even get the Visa with the A2 certificate with a proof that you are enrolled into a language course in Germany or if you are going to the give the exam (This depends on the consulate). I would strongly recommend that you complete B1 before leaving the country as the university would not enroll you without this certificate.

3.You need to finish B2 before registering for your Master Thesis. Bottom line, try to learn as much German as you can.

scofield1144 ApplauseApplauseApplause Great job scofield! Where do you find the time man? Do you think adding application deadlines would be helpful?

Just a small thing....
It is my personal opinion that you should not put that remark about BTU. Let us not cook any pre conceived notion into the people, they have to do thorough analysis of all the universities by themselves and then decide.

The fact remains that neither you nor me know the truth. After reading that post i doubt if people will even apply to the university. And what if things are actually different there...

Seprac I religiously use EduGoogle. Yet, there are so many threads I've missed and stumbled across when it was almost too late to be of any good use. I've found some valuable gems in those compilation threads by scofield and nimbus. I think it's best to leave the link here, and then let the applicant decide based on this post and any other information he can find. If there's any positive review from an Edulix member, we could mention that link too.

True that none of us know the truth, but I just wanted to let others know the other aspect of the university. So it is the final call of the applicant, let him/her do the research and come to a conclusion. Or any other senior who has a fair idea about this uni. shall comment on this. Actually I myself dropped the apping plan to this uni. after reading the post. But there are other reasons as well, since I got admit in other unis and this uni has application fee.

nimbus_2000 I have updated title the first post with deadlines and other mech courses, please update the same in the index thread(title).
