GRE/GMAT Waiver (exemption)

Hello everyone!
Have you came across any school that offered GMAT or GRE exemption?

I'm looking for MIS (Management Information Systems) master programs in US and Canada but my GRE score is below average.

Other areas like GPA, Work Exp., Recom. Letters, however, are excellent.

Does anybody have experience with GMAT or GRE waivers, where and how?

Any response is appreciated!

Start checking out Canada. Almost every univ in Canada doesn't look at your GRE.

Thanks for reply @VMEHTA
Actually, most business programs that I came across in Canada require either GMAT or GRE, particularly the Management Information Systems programs.

All in all, the only pure MIS course-based programs as far as I know are: Brock University and York (under MBA but not specialized).

The rest are research-based (i.e. Queen's, UBC) and that's not something I'm looking into.

My main focus is US universities, if anyone can shed some light on any reputable/mid size school that can offer GMAT/GRE waiver for MIS ?

Thanks!

No university in US gives a waiver for GRE/GMAT. However, you can contact the respective universities. Also, some universities look for scores for only one section of GRE....taking my example: I have applied in Iowa State University in ECE department as they require only 155 in quant section of GRE.

Hi Talya

For MIS, almost none of the good colleges offer a GRE waiver. I have rarely heard of a univ that waives off GRE and is still worth going. Don't worry about cutoffs just apply. If your profile is as mentioned above, then you shouldn't have any problems.

GRE is not the only criterion. So, go ahead and apply. Use unisuggest and get a list of univs and tag us for evaluation in the forum. We will be glad to help you.

All the best my friend Smile

P.S you have not tagged properly. So, If you are still looking for V.Mehta's input then tag properly.

Some universities give you admits, and then they ask you to retake GRE. Yes! they do that!
