UIC Aid vs ASU vs UC Riverside - CS

I have narrowed down my options to these 3 Universities and I would like some guidance in selecting my final destination.

UIC - Received Finacial aid in the form of TA/RA from 2nd sem onwards. Excellent faculty and good job prospects but cost of living is high. Large batch for this year.

ASU - Decent University. Ranks above UIC and UCR. Has large batch size. The location might be a problem for post-grad jobs. I have two pre-requisites.

UC Riverside - Part of UC's and hence can expect good quality of education. Expecting a decent crowd and less batch size. It's in California. Professors ratings are good according to ratemyprofessors.com. Not widely known.

The above are the inferences I have drawn from various groups, posts, and personal research.

My final objective is getting a job but before that, I would like to pursue some research opportunities.

Also received admits from SJSU, Vanderbilt, Syracuse - 30% aid.

Any opinions/views are welcomed. Thanks in Advance!

The easy thing is to drop UCR. I know the program very well.

So, the competition is between ASU & UIC. Now, ASU doesn't have a location problem. There are several companies in Arizona and Cali major companies do campus interviews. Therefore, you are okay with either choice. I personally like ASU as we see many of ASU grads in California.

Cheers

Hey, your opinions are for CS and not for EE right?

Could you please elaborate on the UCR CS program. I was hoping it to be good since its part of UC system and the reviews about the profs are pretty decent in the ratemyprofessors.com. What part of UCR is negative about it?.

Quote:Part of UC's and hence can expect good quality of education.

Quality of education here in the US is not necessarily dependent on the name of the university or the university system a school is attached to.

Please go through the 2 threads I've linked to in my signature.

As regards your question, I'd choose between ASU, UIC and Vanderbilt.

1) Please mention as many details as possible about your academics, research and work-ex, in terms of projects worked on, technologies used, roles/responsibilities handled, papers published/presented, awards/honors obtained, etc. All those have to be put in the misc details section of your UniSearch profile if you expect any help on Edulix.

2) Please take some time out to read this and this thread in their entirety. PLEASE do that before asking questions about universities from a comparison perspective, or jobs, or coursework, or H-1B visas, or "placements", irrespective of which univ/department/program/major you're applying to.
