I guess this time class strength is around 30-40 from India and total is around 70 which is less compared to last time admits

TUM has made the admission process more difficult it seems.
Lucky to be in those 30 bright plp.Very HappyCool

Hi,
Can i know HiWi scenes in Munich Smile

Hey
Sorry, I don't know much about Munich to make a definite comment. However, given that Munich also has so many university related institutes (and depending on TUM's policies, you might even be allowed to work in other universities' institutes), so the possibility for HiWi jobs should be bright. Plus, Munich is one of the largest Startup clusters, so the opportunity for HiWi jobs in startups is also high.

I would like to distinguish here between HiWi jobs and part time jobs. HiWi jobs are typically at a Institute (University/Research) or a company and involves mainly desk jobs like programming, helping the prof, etc. While the part-time jobs are more physical. Like working at a shop, or on a factory floor.

Hence, for HiWi jobs there is very less requirement of German skills. (My institute works totally in English). However for part-time jobs, the German skills are desired more.

Also I'm planning to complete A1 before departure, A2 absolutely necessary for getting part-time

So, it is good that you will have German skills before coming here. Will help you settling easier. But, I would advise not to think too much about getting a HiWi/part-time at the start of your studies (unless you have some financial issues). Get used to the study demands and then see if you have time for a job. But, yeah some prior research does no harm. Wink

Also can u give insights on government scholarships

Regarding Government scholarships or Scholarships of any kind, there should be a page in TUM's website containing all details. Having said that, many scholarships require high German skills. And, they are highly competitive even for local students. Hell, they don't charge tuition. What more can you expect RazzRazz

Thanks Smile
