I got an admit from ASU. They have mentioned program duration as 3 years in the I20. The bank wants that I show the duration as 2 years if I want installments distributed into 4 parts.

Pls suggest what kind of document should I ask ASU for a proof. Which office is relevant for this.

It is the usual pattern for any college. Even my program is for 2 years and it is 3 years duration mentioned in I20. I believe this is because you are eligible to do CPT for nearly a year.

Which bank is asking for such a proof? All the major banks know this.

As far as I know, ASU or any other Univ will not change the I20 duration, as it is up to the student how fast does he want to complete his MS. Wait for Editor sir to chip in.

The bank is IDBI. They say that we will disburse your loan in installments. In case the duration is 3 years they will distribute the semester fee into 6 installments. If it is 2 years then 4 installments. As I get full tuition in the second case I am looking for the two yearly case. Howevor, as I told you they are looking for a proof that supports the program duration to be 2 years. It necessarily need not be the I20. I will be contacting the university for that. I hope they agree to write something about the usual completion time of 2 years.
