Need help in shortlisting universities.

I amlookiong to apply for Masters in Software Engineering or MIS (I know this forum is not for MIS) (Not looking to apply for MSCS)

- Experience: 4 years in Samsung R&D as Senior Software Engineer.
- Android Framework Engineer with internal projects in Testing Automation and others

- Internship at Gridbots in Robotics for a month in 3rd year of college

Projects

- Line following and Obstacle avoidance Robots in College

- Decent LORs

I am considering for applying to following universities but cant think of others:

1. MSSE in UC Irvine

2. MSSE in ASU

4. MIMS in UC Berkeley

5. MS in Computer Networks in NCSU (I have worked on wlan and bluetooth in my company)

So basically I am looking for Masters in IT related fields apart from CS.

MIS and SE are two different things, my friend. Decide on which one you want to pursue. Kindly refrain from posting duplicates. I replied to your post on MIS forum.

To add to what MSmaverick has said, read through these two threads to start off understanding why we are saying only apply to one set of programs i.e. either MIS or SE.

1) Please mention as many details as possible about your academics, research and work-ex, in terms of projects worked on, technologies used, roles/responsibilities handled, papers published/presented, awards/honors obtained, etc. All those have to be put in the misc details section of your UniSearch profile if you expect any help on Edulix. Also, before requesting for profile evaluations, please go through this excellent post.

2) Please take some time out to read these three threads in their entirety. PLEASE do that before asking questions about universities from a comparison perspective, or jobs, or coursework, or H-1B visas, or "placements", irrespective of which univ/department/program/major you're applying to.

I love to read, and then I regurgitate. I write - a lot - as my posts here and on other outlets would show. I do not make apologies for what I write (and how long it is). I do not sugarcoat things either. I don't tolerate vague questions, for any reasons - ignorance arising out of an inability to locate information when the necessary tools to do so (i.e. the internet, libraries, university websites, other forums/bulletin boards, etc.) are readily available, is not any kind of an acceptable excuse.

Understood. Thanks both of you.

I will of course go for SE and not MIS.

Should I delete this thread and post a new one to get opinions ?

Don't worry, I'll lock this one. Please continue on the other one for all your MIS profile eval-related questions.
