Nice profile. Any research papers published?

1) Please mention as many details as possible about your academics, research and work-ex, in terms of projects worked on, technologies used, roles/responsibilities handled, papers published/presented, awards/honors obtained, etc. All those have to be put in the misc details section of your UniSearch profile if you expect any help on Edulix. Also, before requesting for profile evaluations, please go through this excellent post.

2) Please take some time out to read this and this thread in their entirety. PLEASE do that before asking questions about universities from a comparison perspective, or jobs, or coursework, or H-1B visas, or "placements", irrespective of which univ/department/program/major you're applying to.

Thanks for reviewing my profile The_Observer!. No research papers though. My prof and I are submitting a conference paper though (trying for IEEE or IET), which was based on an 18 month research on autonomous driving and parking.

I am also considering USC and UM Amherst.

Is my list too ambitious?

UCB - ambi
UCLA - ambi-mod
UCSD - mod-ambi
CMU - ambi
Stanford - ambi
UT Austin - ambi
GaTech - ambi-mod
Cornell - ambi
UIUC - ambi
UPenn - ambi-mod
USC -safe
UM Amherst - ambi

Your list is very top-heavy. I wish I could tell you that you have great chances of getting into most of these schools, but irrespective of how great a profile you have, getting into the top schools is always a toss-up, so I'd say hedge your bets. Add some safe and mod schools (1 safe should do - UB/ASU/IUB, and 2 mods - Rutgers/UMN/NCSU). Also I'd recommend cutting down your ambi list to 5-6 at most (unless you want to apply to more schools, of course), and only applying to 1 super ambi from amongst Berkeley/UT/UMass/Stanford (I'd recommend keeping Stanford and UMass in the list though).

Go through the other threads here on Edulix, as well as the UniSuggest and UniSearch systems, and come up with a better list after you go through university websites and think about which programs you really want to apply to. Be sure you only include those schools whose programs you really like and would like to be a part of. For your initial list, it's okay to have about 15 or so schools in the initial list, and we'll help you trim that number down. But we do need you to put in the legwork on your own, and don't expect to handed stuff on a silver platter here on Edulix. Looking through univ websites to ascertain which schools' programs you like, is your job. Ask for help if you need it, but not for spoon-feeding.
