Hi Edulixians,
I am planning to apply for One/two year Masters in Information Systems in the United States.

I have 6 years of experience in 3 different Top-ranked companies as a technology consultant / Quality assurance Engineer ( Infosys, EMC2, and Thoughtworks ).
GMAT: 650 ( Q 47, V32 ) TOEFL: yet to appear

I have shortlisted below programs. Please help me categorize in safe/ moderate/ ambitious category.

1) MIS -Robert Smith, University of Maryland
2) MIS -Kelley, Indiana University [ Dream School ]
3) MIS-University of Sunny Buffalo (UBS)
4.) MIS - University of Arizona ( Eller )
5.) MIS -Texas AnM (Mays business school ) [ Dream school ]

Also, Please suggest if I should apply for any other schools that are in a MOD-SAFE category. I have exceptional recommendations and my work ex at the latter 2 companies is good too.

Hi rakhid

Congratulations on your scores Smile

Kindly wait for a few days before retagging.

You have a wonderful experience, so make sure you knock the ball out of the park in your SoP. If your test scores had been a little higher, I would have gone a little easier in my eval. Add one or two Ambi and one or two safes.

1) MIS -Robert Smith, University of Maryland - Med- High Mod
2) MIS -Kelley, Indiana University [ Dream School ] - Med- High Mod
3) MIS-University of Sunny Buffalo (UBS) - Safe
4.) MIS - University of Arizona ( Eller ) - High Mod
5.) MIS -Texas AnM (Mays business school ) [ Dream school ] - Med-high Mod

All the best my friend Smile

Hi Wildwayfarer,

Can you please elaborate on why you think that Eller and UBS are moderate for my profile. My primary reason to apply to them was that I thought they are in the safe category.
Would appreciate your comment on the same.
regards
Divya

What the hell is "University of Sunny Buffalo"?

1) Please mention as many details as possible about your academics, research and work-ex, in terms of projects worked on, technologies used, roles/responsibilities handled, papers published/presented, awards/honors obtained, etc. All those have to be put in the misc details section of your UniSearch profile if you expect any help on Edulix. Also, before requesting for profile evaluations, please go through this excellent post.

2) Please take some time out to read these three threads in their entirety. PLEASE do that before asking questions about universities from a comparison perspective, or jobs, or coursework, or H-1B visas, or "placements", irrespective of which univ/department/program/major you're applying to.

I love to read, and then I regurgitate. I write - a lot - as my posts here and on other outlets would show. I do not make apologies for what I write (and how long it is). I do not sugarcoat things either. I don't tolerate vague questions, for any reasons - ignorance arising out of an inability to locate information when the necessary tools to do so (i.e. the internet, libraries, university websites, other forums/bulletin boards, etc.) are readily available, is not any kind of an acceptable excuse.
