Hello Seniors/Mentors

I would be very grateful if you could help me in shortlisting universities for MS in CS(general) or with Data Science specialisation.
(I am more interested in opting MS in CS general as it gives me flexibility in choosing courses even if I am interested in DS track)

Profile:
B.E 9.4 CGPA (B.E. CS) passed in 2014 from Thapar University, Patiala
GRE 322 (168q)(154v)

6 months internship in advanced research team of Samsung RnD (WebGL project)
1 IEEE Intl conference attended
1 internship with CDAC (GoI undertaking)
3+ years relevant work ex in Android, Data Visualisation, Recommender Systems, Data Research etc
(2yrs S/w Dev + >1 yrs Senior S/w Dev)

Decent SOP
2 Academic LORs (1 ex-HOD + 1 current HOD) strong
1 Professional LOR (Director of latest job) Strong

Some community service (3 yrs in NGO) and
extra curriculars (college fests and computing society member)
Partial Scholarship from undergraduate univ

My Tentative shortlist:

UT Asutin
GaTech
UW Madison
Columbia
CMU (MCDS)
USC
Purdue
NCSU
UMass Amherst
UMCP

UCLA
UCSD
Stony Brooks

Seniors and Mentors, please help categorise and finalise the list..also suggest any other univ program I should be looking at..

First of all, you are tagging in a wrong way. you dont need those * marks.

Secondly, I am a fellow applicant and here are my 2 cents on your list.

UT Asutin - Ambi
GaTech - Ambi
UW Madison - Ambi
Columbia - Ambi
CMU (MCDS) - Ambi
USC - Safe
Purdue - Mod
NCSU - ModSafe
UMass Amherst - ModAmbi
UMCP - ModAmbi
TAMU - Mod
UCLA - ModAmbi+
UCSD - ModAmbi
Stony Brooks - Safe

I can assure you that i have quite a few friends at Stony, Uci, UCSD, Gatech.

But also, an eval by a senior will be better!
All the best

If you look at the evaluations guidelines here, you'll find that tagging more than 5 seniors doesn't result in any invites being sent to their inboxes. Perhaps, tagging a handful of active evaluators in your field might be more fruitful.

I'd go with Chirantar's eval.

1) Please mention as many details as possible about your academics, research and work-ex, in terms of projects worked on, technologies used, roles/responsibilities handled, papers published/presented, awards/honors obtained, etc. All those have to be put in the misc details section of your UniSearch profile if you expect any help on Edulix. Also, before requesting for profile evaluations, please go through this excellent post.

2) Please take some time out to read these three threads in their entirety. PLEASE do that before asking questions about universities from a comparison perspective, or jobs, or coursework, or H-1B visas, or "placements", irrespective of which univ/department/program/major you're applying to.

I love to read, and then I regurgitate. I write - a lot - as my posts here and on other outlets would show. I do not make apologies for what I write (and how long it is). I do not sugarcoat things either. I don't tolerate vague questions, for any reasons - ignorance arising out of an inability to locate information when the necessary tools to do so (i.e. the internet, libraries, university websites, other forums/bulletin boards, etc.) are readily available, is not any kind of an acceptable excuse.
