Can you elaborate and provide more evidence to your claims? Please just do not generalize your statement for everyone. Can you provide more support to your response?

I say this as after watching responses like yours, applicants (like me) do get disheartened and then start questioning our own decisions.

check out the career fair at UIC last year. Look for companies which
Sponsor+offer roles for MIS

http://careerservices.uic.edu/junefair3.shtml

I think you will find your answer there as to how good UIC is with respect to jobs.

first off I do not care who you are . And if you know me you know I had assistantships, a good gpa and a very good job to go with it. No point being a minion for the dean and trying to leech an assistantship from him. I found one with my hardwork. And lastly i dont need to be a coward and hide my name with some Bull like hakasu.

Guys just mail people who are currently at UIC. Thers no point mailing/messagin/calling the university appointed minions who are paid to get people to UIC in the form of assistantships.

New courses whatever my classmate Mr/Mrs Hakasu said, ask the people currently enrolled at UIC if they had any option to do a business course or a course in analytics. MS-BA will have priority for analytics courses and MBA for Business courses

Also its not like these courses are full. The dean might not give you the course you want out of spite. But hakasu didnt face that issue coz he was one of the you know whatRazz.

Theres a lot of people I know who currently do not have a job after they graduated. @hakasu please comment

also guys please go through what @hakasu has been posting on other groups. It becomes obvious that
1. this guy is paid to say UIC zindabad. Coursework zindabad . Basically *word censored by forum* on other schools like UB,Syracuse and say UIC is the best.
2. Secondly one of his comments says you can walk into companies coz it is chicago. Its not some grocery shop that you walk into huge companies with your resume and say "bhai interview milega" . IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT.

I mean i got nothing to lose , I sorted my stay at UIC out through luck. The job that I have now is a consulting role with one of the big 4.
UIC is not worth it. If 4/10 people get an assistantship thats a 60% chance you pay 50k in tuition alone. Add to that staying in one of the most expensive cities in the United states which is around 800 a month.

I have seen my friends struggle and go back home since the tuition was too much. You ask the dean for help and his reponse would be. If you dont have money you should go back home . @hakasu gets an assistantship coz hes good at writing up UIC on edulix which no self respecting man/woman would do.

Cheers

@[asingh77]
i agree with you completely.
Well ppl are bribed witha ssistantships to support a prog. AM sure abt taht thou Rolling Eyes

Very HappyVery HappyVery Happy Sad but true.

Yep. Made it thinking there is no existing group and telegram is a better platform for group chats. Ignore it since there is one already, and add me as well. I'll pm my no.

grv231 . I just wanted to offer my two cents on the reality at UIC so that you guys can make an informed decision if UIC is the school for you.

Best of luck !!

49k$ tuition, from the estimates for last year. Living expenses, I read that one can manage with 600$ but that it can go up to 700$ sometimes.

$18,600/Sem for fall and Spring. Go with this calculation. If you are going for Summer and palnning to finish it in an year it will be 18,600*2 + 5000/6000 (Dont remember the exact number) (summer)
If you are planning for 3 sems (FAll+Spring+Fall) 18,600*3
Most importantly, event if you get an assistantships you still end up apying $5000 a sem.

Hey hi I have received an admit for the UIC MSBA program, could you please tell me how good the coursework is, since it's a relatively new program I couldn't find much info about UIC. I am too much concerned about the total tuition fee. If one take 4 courses in fall and spring, fee will be around $38k and then will they allow to me take pre req courses in summer which might $6k. Then total fee will be around $44k, is it right? I mean if I join by fall 16 and not by summer 16. Tuition Fall 16, Spring 17 and summer '17 will cost around $44k. My question is will they allow students to take pre req courses during summer 17. I have been many ppl are planning to join summer 16 for the sake of reducing , why can't they do the same pre req next year? I am confused, could you please clarify me. Won't they allow the students to take courses during summer? if not fall 16, spring 16 and fall 17 will costs around $55k which is ridiculously expensive
