JT_daniel Is it true that IELTS and GRE scores play rather an important role, only after which comes the Acads?

Nope, Acads rule here. IELTS and GRE are supplements you could say, but very high GRE and IELTS scores won't make up directly for relatively poor Acads. Many universities have an unofficial (in some cases official) cut offs for acads. As for the FH Aachen, Acads are very important.

One of my friends got rejected today for Energy Systems. Sad

Currently swamped with work and Uni, so won't be able to respond immediately. A thousand apologies to all those waiting for Profile Evals or who want questions to be answered. And please do NOT email me. Thank you!

hi JT_ daniel

I have a lot of questions to ask about but do not know where to start Very Happy

Firstly, I intend to apply for fall 2012 for energy system.I have good Ielts

score and an appropriate GRE quant score(approximately 800),on the

other hand my GPA is 14 out of 20 while my energy related courses are

above 15.

In addition I have one year industrial experience in gas fields.

Do you have any information about how strict they are meanwhile

assessing the documents?(At least in comparison with your admission case

of you) and how much is the chance for my case?

Great Thanks

Well, I'd ask you to apply for the course. But as for your chances ebrahim1364, please create a separate Profile Eval thread. Ask all your questions regarding FH Aachen here, but please create a separate thread for evaluations!

JT_daniel is it true that TOEFL/IELTS score must be less than 6 months old at the time of application?

vikksuriya Nope, don't worry about that. My IELTS score was more than 6 months old and there wasn't any problem. They say that because the Embassy might require a latest score. As long as the score is legally valid (GRE- 5 years, TOEFL - 2 years), its okay.

Did you possess a B1 level German Language proficiency when applying to FH Aachen ? I am interested in Mechatronics but this pre-requisite is required. Hence I would like to know.. Please do let me know soon.

Yes karthiksrajamane, I had my Zertifikat Deutsch certificate, but not while applying. I appeared for the exam around the same time I received the admit, so I could only use it when I registered for the courses here in Germany.

It isn't a prerequisite for Energy Systems, you have to take it before the third semester ends. But I presume for Mechatronics you need it before joining? It's the same with AVI too.

Really depends on the individual visser1975. Those courses which some other find it easy, I might struggle and vice versa. But in general, it's not impossible if you're dedicated enough.
