1. You can apply for accomodation at the Studentenwerk website.
http://www.studentenwerk-aachen.de/willkommen.asp
It's really difficult to get the student accomodation though. The waiting lists are pretty huge. You can pay the deposit after arriving at Aachen.

2. I don't know whether the Energy Systems programs provide buddies. There is a BeBuddy program at RWTH though (http://www.rwth-aachen.de/go/id/bpei/). Maybe you can contact the course coordinator and find out whether such buddy programs are there.

3. You can decide about health insurance after arriving at Aachen. Usually it costs around 80 Euros per month. Usually students go for the government health insurances (TK or AOK). I think for Visa purposes, you need to get a travel insurance till you are enrolled at the university.

Start searching for temporary accomodation on sites like:
http://www.easywg.de/
http://www.wg-gesucht.de/
There are a lot of FB groups too, like this one:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/420521734669396/
You can become a member and start searching for accomodation. Don't try to restrict yourself to permanent accomodation. Even something like an Untermieter for a couple of months should give you some breathing time.

hello JT_daniel

I read your informative comments about FH Aachen and Energy Systems.

I am a bachelor student from mechanical engineering in my home university, NON EU, international and interested in Energy Systems.

Firstly, I don't have very challenging grades in my bachelor courses, not because I have problems with understaing the basics, but the hardness and intensity of our full time program, extremeness of the exams led me to have average grades.

Does FH Aaachen care about our grades from bachelors specifically when we apply?

Secondly, an important barrier to me is not English nor German, but funds
( as I love learning new languages and have advanced (C1) English and (B1) German.)

But funding... Because the currency in my home country sucks against euro recently and when converting the family fund into euro, it will not be sufficient for me.

I will need part time jobs there for sure after all while studying energy systems in Jülich. Do you have suggestions about this? Any experience from your international friends similar to me also? Or anything you realised about student job opportunities in Jülich or Aachen?

Thirdly, if you don't mind, may I ask about your current position as a graduate from MS Energy Systems from FH Aachen? As I am a nervous person because I only had theory based with very detailed courses at an extreme during my bachelors of mechanical engineering, and now know nothing about real engineering, practical approaches or anything about real life. Literally, I am an alien.

Is it highly possible to find a job in Germany after completing the MS studies at Energy Systems? What do the companies demand?

Thank you for your patience, hoping a return reply. Thanks.
