Save time with consolidated information on how application (links) and universities requiring electronic transcripts.

Heard most universities are requesting to send everything electronic (including transcripts) for FALL 2012.

Sure Jitin.

the contents that should be in application packets (if any).
for eg UFL only transcript in application packet.

Will create a thread for SOP limit also.

We can add information on what is to be added in package. Do share if there is any doc besides transcripts that is to be send in the package.

Have a look at the spellings of the univ names please.

1) Please mention as many details as possible about your academics, research and work-ex, in terms of projects worked on, technologies used, roles/responsibilities handled, papers published/presented, awards/honors obtained, etc. All those have to be put in the misc details section of your UniSearch profile if you expect any help on Edulix. Also, before requesting for profile evaluations, please go through this excellent post.

2) Please take some time out to read this and this thread in their entirety. PLEASE do that before asking questions about universities from a comparison perspective, or jobs, or coursework, or H-1B visas, or "placements", irrespective of which univ/department/program/major you're applying to.

Transcript size!!

I scanned a hard copy of my transcript in a .pdf format.
Being from a stupid college called VIT,Pune they have a 12 page transcript - size coming to 8mb!

Most universities dont allow anything > 1mb to be uploaded. I can think of 2 solutions :
1. Remove some un-necessary pages regarding collg info etc. and scan only the pages that contain the marks.

2. Scan in .jpeg and try to compress it.

If i choose 1. i will upload only 5 pages of the official transcript which the university might see a discrepancy in. As the official packets will contain whole 12 pages transcript.

Option 2 : Quality will be compromised. Do not know how legible it will be.

Help me out.

You can tag me for Embedded/CS Evaluations..

Transcripts are generally 2-3 pages. Post this in ask a question forum. You will get a better response there.

Keep reducing quality, and keep checking for legibility, keep reducing untill the trade-off becomes too much, that's what I did, but i only had to reduce from about 3mb. ATB
