Hi Guys,

First a small recap about me.
I applied last year for my masters in US, FALL 2012 (Power Systems). Got admit from Arizona State Univ. But due to some Financial issues, I had to stay back and thus couldn 't enroll myself there.
'n Moreover, I left my job(Infosys) too.
Heartbreaking that was!

Anyways, I am applying again, this time to German Univs. (wasn 't aware about their reputation in the field of EE/Mech when I applied last time). And moreover, here education cost is less too.

I have done my Electrical Engg. from Punjab Engg. College, Chd. (PEC).
Work experience of 3.5 years, Infosys (IT). Left the job around 3 months ago.

I have shortlisted 3 German univs, Please evaluate my profile.

Masters EPE (Elec Power Engineering) - TU Darmstadt
M.Sc (Electrical Power Engg.) - RWTH Aachen
Masters (Poweer Engineering) - Brandenburg Technical University

Though I have an idea that I have got a weak profile.
Well, I am doing my research by my own, still any help regarding some "Less" expensive univs for Power systems anywhere in Europe or US would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Consider Missouri S&T- Rolla , Michigan Technological university....Good courses in power systems with low tuition fees...

What do you want me to say? I am a Biomed guy.

If you are looking for cheap Universities, you should know that all European Uni's other than the Dutch and the Swedish ones, charge only a small amount as fee(like Rs 50k a year). A few exceptions exist though.

Tag me to get a response.
Currently at KUL and TU/e.

I'm a CS guy and I'm not a Profile Evaluator either. Please read the Profile Evaluation guide and tag the correct people.

All the Best

The power engineering department at Darmstadt is closing down. Don't bother applying there.

Do your really want to go to Cottbus (Brandenburg)? It's not a great university and plus it's in East Germany. RWTH Aachen is not easy to get into, but you can still try. You never know what may happen.

Now at Aalto University, Department of Electrical Engineering (Electric Power Engineering, in other words)

Hey Thanks for your Input.
I am really confused about the Univ selection. Last time it was US 'n thus there were many universities, but Germany has the 'German' medium of instruction in most of their universities. So, I am left with few.

Any suggestions about the Universities (US or Europe) which I should look for?!
(With LESS expenses! I left ASU because it was way above my reach in terms of its fee)

Thanks.

from what i remember, at Cottbus, the power engineering course is in English, not German. But i repeat, i have no idea how good the university is and i couldn't find many online references, so check before you apply there.

Ok eldrichr, I got your point.
But are you sure that Masters EPE (Elec Power Engineering) - TU Darmstadt is closed now?
because I can still the information about in on their website.
here http://www.epe.tu-darmstadt.de/home_1/ho...ews.en.jsp

Correct me if I am wrong.

@all, guys please pour in with some info regarding universities. I tried searching some US univs, but the thing which is troubling is their Fee.
Now I am searching for some European Univs. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yuvi

probably the result of a literal translation, but you get the point :

EPE program exposed
The EPE Program will be intermitted for the winter semester 2013/14. No application is possible after the 15th of July 2012.

Now at Aalto University, Department of Electrical Engineering (Electric Power Engineering, in other words)
