Basically most German universities consider their Masters programs to be a continuation of their Bachelors programs. So for us Auslaendische students to get an admit into their Masters programs, we need to fulfill some pre-requisites which is nothing but some subjects which we have done in our Bachelors degree.

The Bachelors program in FH Aachen which is relevant to the Masters program is Fahrzeug- und Antriebstechnik. Just take a look at the below link. Just click on the subjects which are mentioned in the course comparison list and you will get the entire contents of that subject. If some of the contents match the subject in your undergrad degree, then fill in those subjects in the course comparison list.

Hey nimbus_2000,
have any idea about the weightage given to GRE Quant score for the Automotive course?? My quant score is pathetic- 71%, same for UG grade- 70%
The only hope for me is to that my BE is in automobile engg. and I have studied most of the subjects mentioned in course comparison list...

Hey bishtkamal

I had explained the way they select the applicants according to the Zulassungsordnung earlier in the thread. Please see below that post.
If you have any queries in it, do let me know Smile

The PDF mentioned below can be found at this link:
http://www.fh-aachen.de/topnavi/download...df&did=315

on the 4th page (just above Antragsverfahren), they mention
"Here, the final grade of the first university degree with 55% and professional aptitude score go to 45% in the score. The score must be at least 2.3."
For non-German candidates, will the 'first university degree' be replaced by the GRE?

Hey udaydphutane jeeva1133

They give a "total score" to each candidate from 1 to 4.
Similar to the German grading system where 1 is the best score and 4 the lowest.

This score consists of two components:

1. For international students GRE quant score. The weightage of this to the "total score" is 55%. The exact points given to the (i think) percentiles obtained in quant portion is mentioned on Pg. 6

2. Fachliche Eignungsnote (Subjects that make you eligible to study the course). These subjects are mentioned for both the Aero and Auto courses. See Page 3 end. For Auto the subjects are:
1. Aerodynamik im Fahrzeugbau (Aerodynamics in Vehicle Design)
2. Dynamik der Fahrzeuge (Vehicle Dynamics)
3. Mess- und Prüftechniken im Powertrainbereich oder Leichtbau (Testing techniques in Powertrains or Light weight design)
4. Automobilelektronik oder Maschinendynamik (Auto Electronics or Dynamics of Machinery)
5. Getriebetechnik oder Fertigungstechniken im Fahrzeugbau (Transmissions or Production Techniques in Automobiles)
6. Alternative Antriebe oder Fahrzeugaufbau (Alternative Power Technologies or Vehicle Manufacturing)
7. Energiespeichersysteme oder Fahrzeugintegration (Energy Saving Systems or Vehicle Integration)
They will make a table of all these "qualifying" subjects and give final points to it. From 1 to 4. This will count for 45% of the "Total Score".

Now the total score should be less than or equal to 2,3. Otherwise we are not eligible for the course.

Hey @nimbus_2000,
As per the pdf 55% weightage will be given to GRE Quant score and 45% to the professional compatibility. we need a score of 2.3 to be eligible.
But i have few doubts...........

First, the points for both of the criteria are not from 1 - 4. for GRE Quant its 1 -4 and for professional compatibility it's 1 - 5.

Second, they awarded 1 marks for 100% quant score and 4 for the 70%. If a candidates have 70% in quant, he/she will receive 4 points for it. 55% of 4 is 2.2, means he will not qualify for the program even if he/she score highest 1 point for the other criteria, which accounts for 45%. Even 76% in quant means rejection, so what is the relevance of the quant cutoff of 70%??
My quant score is just at the borderline 71%Brick wallBrick wallBrick wall

Well, if you go by that PDF then ya, it must be that way.....
Anyways, there is no harm in applying dude....
The entire procedure is online and you don't need to mail any docs to the university...
I would suggest you to apply for it and hope for the best...

Just a quick update:

I asked my senior at FH Aachen when he received his admit last year. (He is in the AVI program).
He told me that he received the admit email on 28th June.
It seems that his motivation letter went missing in his application docket but the university mailed him in the first week of June asking for the same. FYI - He applied with only his A1 certificate and produced the B1 certificate at the time of enrollment.

GETHU
Have you finished the application process?

Well subject specific requirements were always there in the admission criteria. My senior was telling me that whatever points that Auto Eng guys got was double of the Mech guys. Like they used to multiply by a factor of 8 for Mech guys and 16 for Auto guys.
Still many Mech people used to get into the program.
So we will have to hope for the best and pray that not many Auto guys apply to Fh Aachen. Wink

GETHU, nimbus_2000
on my bachelors marksheet Credit points for subjects are not shown.......In the course comparison list its mentioned that "if credit points are not available, please calculate as percentage of the respective course from courses of 1 semester".
What does this actually means? have any idea??
