Hi all,

I've received the following admits. I'm confused to select between these

1. UTD - VLSI
2. NTU-TUM - Integrated Circuit Design
3. KTH, Sweden - System-on-Chip

Can somebody suggest me preferences based on research, job scenario and Ph.D possibilites?
Tell me the best option among these pl

mew2sharan Have you received any scholarship from KTH?

I guess sometimes the past just catches up with you, whether you want it to or not.

The PhD possibility in KTH is good, if work hard and get a master thesis in an industry then you can get a job there. NTU is pretty and cheapest of all in terms of fees.

Its totally depends on what you want, all three univs are in diff countries. If you have american dreams then goto dallas.
I rate NTU_TUM, KTH equally. If you are ready to do PhD then you can join KTH. PhD funding is really high compared to other 2 places.

Define "best", please.

1) Please mention as many details as possible about your academics, research and work-ex, in terms of projects worked on, technologies used, roles/responsibilities handled, papers published/presented, awards/honors obtained, etc. All those have to be put in the misc details section of your UniSearch profile if you expect any help on Edulix. Also, before requesting for profile evaluations, please go through this excellent post.

2) Please take some time out to read these three threads in their entirety. PLEASE do that before asking questions about universities from a comparison perspective, or jobs, or coursework, or H-1B visas, or "placements", irrespective of which univ/department/program/major you're applying to.

I love to read, and then I regurgitate. I write - a lot - as my posts here and on other outlets would show. I do not make apologies for what I write (and how long it is). I do not sugarcoat things either. I don't tolerate vague questions, for any reasons - ignorance arising out of an inability to locate information when the necessary tools to do so (i.e. the internet, libraries, university websites, other forums/bulletin boards, etc.) are readily available, is not any kind of an acceptable excuse.

The best option among the three univs i've told here.

Considering the following factors:

1. Value for money (in terms of the amount of fees paid, for UTD and KTH it seems to be more or less 40 Lacs totally)
2. Better ROI
3. Opportunities for RA/TA, good research and Ph.D

And Where is the living expenses less among these three?

When comparing universities:

It’s just not possible as each person will only know one side of the answer. You cannot compare a kiwi to a mango based on things you've heard, when you have only tasted an orange. The answers you get to such questions will often be biased or based on incomplete information.

I can't. I have no idea how America works.

I'm only asking you not to rely entirely on information you get from people abroad. No one person will have attended both universities that you are comparing, to give you the answer you need.

As gowthamtce and eldrichr said above, its really not possible to compare like this. Just see the courses which interest you more and you can afford easily.

There are opportunities everywhere, in US, in Germany and in Sweden. If you will work hard anywhere, you will get ROI.

I guess sometimes the past just catches up with you, whether you want it to or not.

KTH Sweden , only if you have a scholarship !! (STRICTLY my opinion)

The following has its unique features, depends on what you exactly want
1. UTD - VLSI
( USA, More Jobs from what I have heard of)

2. NTU-TUM - Integrated Circuit Design
( Good course but different culture, U must learn German if you wanna settle in Germany and equally good job options if you hold proper skills in your domain )
