Guide for getting Blocked Account Attestation in German Embassy Delhi

I have successfully got the attestation for DB acc and also my acc opened in Deutsche Bank Germany.

Here is the time line

1. Attestation of Docs at Delhi Embassy - 15.5.2014
2. Docs. picked up by DHL - 15.5.2014
3. Docs. reaching DB Leipzig - 19.5.2014
4. Reception of Blocked Acc. Details thru mail from DB - 22.5.2014

I am not sure whether this period was a peak time, but you would be able to visualize the rough time span from the above.

Procedure:

Docs Required:

1. Filled DB blocked acc form. Get it from the following link https://www.deutsche-bank.de/pfb/data/do...udents.pdf.

Important note: Fill the pdf form in the system and take a printout of it. I did fill it by hand with a ball pen, then I was sent back by the lady (she was beautiful…!) at the counter. I ran back to Yaswant place to find a browsing center and I got it done there.

2. Your passport copy (the data pages with your DOB & address). You need to bring the originals of the passport as well (very important, as they verify with this)

These are the only docs. needed. There is no need for your admit letter or mail copy.

Attestation Fee:

They charged me Rs.2600 as the attestation fee.

(Important: You need to have the exact change, I was running around there for the hundred rupee notes).

Filling & Signing the form:

This is an important point to note. The pdf has total 7 pages, actual DB form starts from page. 3, you need to fill from here. Fill your details in serial no.1, in sl. no. 10 & 12, mention place as Delhi & Date as the when you go for attestation. Opt for online banking option sl. no. 7, it does not charge anything for this.

Important: You should sign the form in sl. nos. 10, 11 & 12 (where the “X” mark is present) ONLY IN FRONT OF THE CONSULATE.

Other Important Points while going:

1. Attestation is done from 8.30 am to 12 noon from Monday to Friday.

2. You don’t need any prior appointments for getting the attestation.

3. Don’t take your cell phone or any other electronic devices along with you (yes, even they asked me to deposit my pendrive in cloak room). I don’t know if they allow us to deposit the cellphones in the cloak room, I didn’t took my phone with me.

4. Please do not staple your documents, the consulate people will staple your docs. and after getting the attestation you should not remove the staple done by the consulate.

5. I took all my certificates and the admit letter with me for the safer side, though these were not mandatory. Take them as well if you have with you.

6. Here is the address of the consulate

No.6, Block 50G, Shantipath,
Chanakyapuri,
New Delhi.

Just thought I'd share my experience at Delhi Embassy, as June-July is supposed to be a peak time.

1. Attestation of Docs at Delhi Embassy - 18.06.2014
A rude lady at the counselor services (Gate no. 4) examined my form, asked for my passport and a copy, stapled the form (please do not staple your documents) and asked me to sign at the required places. I handed her attestation fee of INR 2600. Then she asked me to wait outside (it was so hot!!!!) and went away with the documents. She was gone for half an hour. When she returned, she was EMPTY HANDED, and by that time there were already 4-5 people waiting for her. She asked me to wait for 10-15 minutes more as the concerned person was busy! wow! By the time, she entertained those 4-5 people, half hour more had already passed. She went back again and came after 1 hour. I was waiting in the bright hot sun for over 2 hours for the work that required only 5 minutes. Then she called me in and handed me the docs (attestation seal is at the back of docs). So not a good experience at all!

2. Docs sent by FedEx - 18.06.2014

3. Docs Delivered at DB - 20.06.2014

4. Account opening confirmation by mail - 25.06.2014

Destination - Uni Saarland (Visual Computing)

I think I was lucky to go in May. And yes she does that, disappearing from the seat. Anyways you got it and ATB.

I am admitted to TUM Informatics Winter 2016.
What should be my next steps?
1) Blocked Account
2) Transfer money
3) Appointment for VISA
4) book flight tickets

I am still confused about how to go with Accommodation part.
Also, for the attestation, only DB form and passport is required?

Hii, I just got my visa approved for Germany ws 2016, fresh with the process so can help.
I am from Uttarakhand so applied for the visa at New Delhi.
1st. Appointments can be booked prior to ur confirmation of opening of blocked account.
In my case i did not even have my account open at the time of my VI.
However this is not recommended.
Blocked account opening process was time consuming, It took more than three weeks so plan your appointmemt accordingly.
Once account was open, i transferred money and got a confirmation of credit of funds in two days.

There is about three weeks of lead time for interview, so make sure u book the appoinment carefully taking into account that if you ask for an appointment once you have ur blocked account confirmation, it may take three weeks more.

Flight tickets are not required at the time of interview, neither at the time of actual stamping, however flight reservation stating the date of your intended travel is required at the time of stamping once your visa is approved.

All the best!!

shobhitsharmagre It would be great if you can create a new visa experience thread. It would be really helpful for your fellow applicants. You can find examples in the visa thread.
