In my opinion, it is better to buy it in India. First of all, prices are less in India. Trust me, laptops are costly here, unless there are some deals going on.
Second, if you buy it in Germany, you will get a German keyboard layout, which can be a pain in the ass with its keys a bit different than the US layout. Also, you may get German language OS.

Hope this helps.

On the contrary, I would advise you to get one from Germany. There are quite a few student offers (certain models from Lenovo, Asus, Schenker, Toshiba or HP) that can get you a decent laptop for everyday use. I don't know if you have any specific requirements but if you do please write it here and I can help you out with that as well. The Germany keyboard layout can be a bit daunting at first because most people are used to the US one in India. However, it does not take much time to get used to it as the differences are not that many. Moreover, the German keyboard is the one you will encounter most frequently in libraries, offices, etc. So it makes sense to get used to it. In fact, it is essential for writing in German so that is another advantage. I am pretty sure the German language OS can be changed to English without a lot of effort. But what I would recommend is buying a laptop without Windows and then install it later yourself using a license that you can obtain from your university.

Ksaurabh02 I am in the same boat, and i am concerned about one thing.
The laptop bought in india would carry indian warranty right?

Or is it possible to carry that warranty across international borders?

sid0972 I bought a lenovo G50-80 from Flipkart , and i contacted lenovo , they do provide international warranty to G series..
why i bought here is price is kind of less in India and Germany laptop has German keyboard and OS.
It is better to buy here as international warranty is provided by Lenovo.

As mentioned above, I prefer the German keyboard layout slightly as well. Changing the OS language is hardly a difficult task. Both of these factors aren't dealbreakers.
