I have been accepted by university of siegen for masters in Chemistry. I have been asked to accept admission in 10 days.

I am waiting for results from other universities. I will really be thankful if someone guide me, What should I do? Is there any kind of binding once you accept an admission to german university.

thewho There is no binding if you even accept the offer, unless you have been asked to pay the registration fees. In worst case you would be loosing the registration fee, If any. Rest don't worry about accepting their offer.

Mail2neha.fall2013 First of all, please update your InfoBank. Details on 'how to do it' is in my signature.

You don't need to pass any German language proficiency exam in order to secure admission in German universities. However, there are few universities which require A2 or B1 proficiency.

Learning German language is indeed important (getting involved with local culture/people and post MS jobs), but definitely not a criteria to secure an admission.

You will start receiving admission from March onward. Most of the universities declare their result around May and it goes till late July.

Mail2neha.fall2013 It's the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Languages. There are six levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. A2 and B1 levels more or less indicate lower-intermediate language proficiency. You can Google it for more information.

Hi everyone,

I have got admission to the University of Kiel. They have asked me to accept it through mail before May 18. But the problem is that, I am waiting for the results from other universities. Is there any problem in accepting this and later if I get any other University, I can join that University and not join Kiel?...

Please reply...

Thanks in advance....

I just went through some of the posts of this thread. Have two questions.
1. If german universities don't charge tuition fees, why would they need bank statement for last 12 months?? and what is fd certicate. please guide me on this.

To see whether you can manage your living expenses.
2. Some universities require GATE score. so is this the case that they just require a candidate to appear for GATE or also requires a good score in GATE.

Which ones? See whether they say its mandatory (I doubt), or good-to-have

Mail2neha.fall2013 Yes most of the German universities don't have tuition fees, but you have to show around 7500 EURO in a blocked account to get the resident permit for your studies along with the last 6-12 months bank statement. Without the 7500 EURO in a blocked account the embassy will not give you to resident permit unless you hold a scholarship from DAAD or some other grant.

Some universities ask for GATE score - True, like TU Munich. Ofcourse you need to have a good score. Just appearing for GATE won't suffice. However, the GATE score is not mandatory in some of the courses in TUM. Don't worry about it, there are plenty of other universities in Germany where GATE score is not required.

guys one doubt:
I am studying in B.E. comps, Mumbai university, and will pass out in June/July 2013.
I wish to apply for winter sem(starting october) international courses in Germany.
But the problem is that M.U. does not give graduation certificates before August 2013, and the application deadline is march 2013 for my choice of courses....
What can be done in this case?

@ sagar_r

By March 31, 2013:-

1) Will your University provide you the Semester Mark sheets (For all semesters) by this deadline?

2) Will your University provide you the Provisional Certificate by this deadline?

On the second week of june i got a mail for Missing documents on GRE and the documents were sent immediately to the University. I still have not got any reply from the university. Is this a Good thing or bad for admission??

No problem. Ensure whether they have received your GRE score.
Since you have sent the missing documents, nothing to worry !
