@Apocalypto

i am also looking for someone who has joined the NIT course. Have you replied to the mail sent from TUHH regarding application to NIT ?
Are you planning to join TUHH for MS ??

i have an admit from a joint masters degree in nanotechnology offered by Polytecnico de Torino , INP Grenoble and EPFL. I am also not sure about this degree. I have contacted some students and still waiting for reply.

@avisar,Karthik and apocalypto,

TUHH offers MSc degree. NIT offers MBA degree. 2 full time degrees in 2 years is the program all about.
NIT costs 26000 euros for 2 years.
visit http://www.nithh.de for all the details.

every student gets sponsored by a company like siemens,nxp,airbus... more than 30 companies sponsor the education. This program is very difficult because of time constraint. there is a nit community on orkut. contact seniors for more info.

NIT is sponsored by big companies of Germany so the reputation is very high. They are very selective about the admission. feb 28th was app deadline when I applied for fall 08.

both campus are next to each other.
If admitted for NIT one need not pay anything for studying except personal expenses and accommodation in few cases.

@avisar
I guess u are talking abt the prog in which u study in 3 countries. similar to erasmus mundus. EPFL is good but such programs wont help u much as u belong to none of the univ's.

Job search in Europe is not easy because of strict immigration laws.
If you get a job u can get visa. learning local lang in europe helps.

http://www.tuhh.de has all details abt the courses offered by TUHH.

Thats was very useful info from u karthik..Thanks.

@avisar
I have not yet replied to their mail regarding NIT. Not sure whether to take management right now.I'm confused why they have still asked us to apply when the actual deadlines are already over. kinda cynical Smile .i too have read that the course gets hectic along with NIT. I'm also waiting for other uni's to reply.

@Karthik
What are the chances of getting a job right away after the joint course?did u get any contacts of seniors studying at NIT

@apocalypto,

everyone is sponsored as per the info received. If a company sponsors ur education they will be interested in u. So chances of getting job there in that company is high.
not many study at nit coz intake is very less. i have been able to contact only the present batch of indians who r studying.

NIT and TUHH are in same campus. NIT students stay in NIT building which is inside campus. If you have enrolled for NIT you should first complete your Masters to get MBA. If you can manage NIT is not so tough and as an NITian you get more interaction than MS students. NIT students mostly get free accomodation,tutition fee, sem fee for 2 years. Mostly people take around 2.5yr to complete(depend on you). All the NIT students i have seen is sponsored by some companies. (if you get sponsored by luftansa, you can get free ticket to India).

cost of living is 700 euros per month to live comfortably.
one can manage within 500euros also. Hamburg is not as expensive as munich but still europe is costlier than US. Go through TUHH course structure. u do get lots of time for research. Learning German is an advantage to get jobs. As far as I know irrespective of which TU you are from your skills is what matters in getting a job. No campus interview concept in Germany.
Till now all NIT students are sponsored by companies like NXP,Siemens,O2,Airbus, Lufthansa,Philips,Drager,Brose,Daimler,IBM,SAP,ABB,Arcelor Mittal,basler,eppendorf,nord,hako,korber,lurgi,nordmetall,olympus,.... list goes on. some 30 companies sponsor. more than 75% students get free accomodation in NIT hostel which is individual room with all facilities for each student. Schedule is very hectic is what I heard from many.

cost of living less than 450, less costly than Munich( rent 213euro in hamburg, 330euro in Munich). division 213 rent(net,tv-cable inclusive)+10-25euro mobile+60euro insurance+food(range from 70-250 max,optimal 100euro).

Now job market is better than previous years since laws got relaxed(jobs depend on luck). but mostly everybody get job. Microelectronics is good here, teaching is good.

GRE isn't that imporatant as far as TUHH. Its just a criteria...But you have a good profile though i cant comment on ur chances of admission as the admission is rolling basis and its nearing deadline...so better apply soon. You have nothing to loose(except for the courier charge Smile )

All the best

I also got admit for Msc in Biochemical and Chemical Engineering in TUHH and although I didnt opt for the MBA comb prog in my application they have sent a seperate mail saying that I am eligible and that I just need to send a essay on my future plans..

But I am not taking the offer... I am heading to Ulm university as I have got a Energy science course admit there and research opportunities are also extremely good there...

@Suseendran,

Now that U have a GRE score you can apply before it is too late... GRE is just a additional requirement.. With your profile, I think you will get through, i.e if you apply at the earliest...

Infobank Profile:

Destination Ulm University

anyway I will be applying....but need ur suggestion.....how does the GRE or TOEFL is not important for the admission???
