Application Info regarding Sweden

The application procedures for Swedish Universities have started. Infact, they have a deadline of Jan 15. I'm planning to apply for MS Electrical Engg at KTH and Chalmers. The site https://www.studera.nu/english claims to have a pooled in applications for all Swedish Universities i.e common application form. But there is no or very little information regarding documents that have to be mailed to them (like recos or SOP). But the KTH website does provide information regarding the same documents.

http://www.kth.se/dokument/eng/study/mas...rogram.pdf

I was wondering if anybody in the forum were facing similar problems in applying to Sweden. It would be of great help if any of the seniors who have previously applied there or any body with info regarding swedish applications could comment.

studera is a common portal through which you apply to all swedish universities...Studera website itself has all the necessary documents that have to be sent...

https://www.studera.nu/studera/1736.html

But, there may be some requirements which are specific to a course in a university and these should be sent directly to the university separately...
So if KTH asks recommendation letters and it isnt there in studera website, you need to send the recommendation letters to KTH separately...

Hey thanks a lot for your replies .... so just one packet to the address mentioned in studera is enough right .... SOP and recos being common for all univs.

@ karthik8711
But it has been mentioned in STUDERA that sending in excess of documents will delay the process of admissino right.
I'm planning to apply to KTH - Electrical Engineering. I got to know from STUDERA and KTH the required documents which I've mentioned below.

To STUDERA (General):
1) Cover sheet
2) Certificates and diplomas from previous education at an internationally recognised higher education institution
3) Transcripts of completed courses and grades (including course list). Sort them in reverse chronological order, i. e. the most recent on top
4) Proof of English language skills.
5) Proof that you meet the specific entry requirements.
6) A copy of the page in your passport with your personal data and photograph or some other document of identification

TO KTH University (Course Specific):
1) Curriculum Vitae
2) Letter of Motivation
3) 2 Letters of recommendation
4) Relevant work experience if any

Does it mean that we need to courier two separate packets one to studera and one directly to Kth Univ.

Can anyone comment and correct me if I'm wrong. Also add up of i've missed any documents so that it'll be useful to all.

Letter of Motivation is required for all the universities. Though it is not mentioned in the studera site, I think we must include the sop or letter of motivation. I wonder if we need to send a generic sop that is common to all universities in sweden or send specific sops to each univ that we apply. Im not sure about this though. I think a generic sop containing the last few lines as..I would like to apply my learning at sweden and bla bla bla in the end would be fine..any suggestions/comments on this..
Recommendation letters are optional but no harm in sending 2 or 3 LORs. I do not know anybody who has not sent their LORs. I dont think this would delay the application process drastically. I think we can include LORs. But DO NOT STAPLE the documents. this would definitely delay the process.

You are right but wat i got to know from STUDERA is that, we need to send the SOP, LOR, CV etc.. to the Univ directly in another packet rather that sending it to studera in the same packet. Sending them to studera is not going to help us in any way.

Correct me if I'm wrong

How did u get this info..Is it mentioned any where in the website..
In the cover letter it is mentioned that the supporting documents must be mailed to studera..this is the address..
University Studies in Sweden
FE 1
SE-833 83 Stroemsund
SWEDEN

Some of my friends have applied to sweden last year and they have sent their packets to the above mentioned address.. Please see this..
Documents
Supporting documentation
All documents necessary to prove your eligibility must have arrived no later than February 1, 2009.
No documents should be sent directly to Chalmers
Please read the connecting website Documents required for your application. You will find a list of documents and this is a complement to the list of required documents on http://www.studera.nu/english.

I got this info from Chalmers website..

From STUDERA:
Supporting documents submitted with online application

You must submit the following documents once you have completed your online application:
1. Cover sheet
2. Certificates and diplomas from previous education at an internationally recognised higher education institution
3. Transcripts of completed courses and grades (including course list). Sort them in reverse chronological order, i. e. the most recent on top
4. Proof of English language skills.
5. Proof that you meet the specific entry requirements.
6. A copy of the page in your passport with your personal data and photograph or some other document of identification

"If the specific entry requirements of a higher education institution and/or department include a dissertation or essay, send these directly to the HEI (Higher Educational Institution). The specific entry requirements are stipulated in the study programme descriptions"

"Please, only submit the required documents that are listed here above, and do not send letters of recommendation unless they are specifically required by the university to which you are applying"

I got this from STUDERA website under "Supporting documentation" tab.

Kindly comment.

Specific entry requirements do not include SOP or LOR..
Check this for more info..
http://www.chalmers.se/en/sections/educa...ements-for
For some programs, the project portfolios are required. like for instance the Industrial design engineering program. Check if the program that you want to apply for has similar requirements.
One more question...How do we show the proof of english proficiency. Do we have to enclose the photocopies of TOEFL score card..I did not receive my score card yet..Can I take the print out of the toefl score(from the website)..What is the 2nd document listed..Do they mean the transcript of the Degree certificate?? Im sure we dont have to send the original documents..

@ karthik8711

Even i'm confused about the second point. but you need not send any originals.

Also for TOEFL u should directly send the score card from ETS. When did u take ur TOEFL.

Also, I called studera now. They asked me to send two separatepackets, one general and other to univ with their course specific documents.

ok..But generally sending documents to univs might delay the application process..If you want to send thesis proposals or any other special entry requirements, then u may send two packets..If this is not the case, then I think 1 packet is enough..I have sent my packet today..I have also confirmed this with my friend studying at chalmers..You can send two packets if u have some thing very specific to send to the university.
If u need any help, pm me ill try to find out from my friends at chalmers..
All the best with ur application.
