I'am starting off a bit late, but i'll apply for a Masters degree in Food Technology @ Wageningen University and University of Helsinki. I will mainly apply to US universities.

I was checking out the admission requirements at Wageningen, they require a >3 gpa (out of 4) or 70% and above from international students.

I got 68.5% ... which was pretty decent by my university's standards, no backlogs. Anyhow i came across a tablature from the student handbook of McGill University, which states that Indian students within the 60-79% bracket have a 3.7 GPA (A=4.0).

Kind of ambiguous! Anyone got any idea on this?

@krishna, bad thing for people having 70-75? A percentage of 70-75 is generally considered to be good or very good at our univ. Confused

@rohilroxta: I am not sure about the other two univs. But, McGill is a good one to my knowledge. n yeah, it's not like our grading system. They have a different band system. 3.7/4.0 could be equivalent to 60-79%.

@angel on earth: Usually, anything above 75% is considered a decent percentage. If you are from one of those elite IITs, then >70% is good enough. But, it's not in our hands now. Everything is over Sad

Agreed! But ~~3.7 gpa for one country cant be >3 for another one! If Wageningen says they need 70% or above or >3 gpa ... that would mean 70%=a gpa of 3.0! Right?

I have messaged the counsellors at the university four times, and every time they just forward me a link from their website saying that " all relevant information for international students can be found here, glad to help you " Razz

@Mustu: Delfts will accept >70%, but one should have >80% to be considered for funding.

@rohilroxta: Ya, you are right. If Cornell is in hand, no need to worry Sad. Anyways, All the very best for your GRE. Share your joy with us Very Happy

@ ratnakar

Dont post randomly anywhere!
Its not an profile evaluation forum.
Also research on univs urself, come up with a tentative list then ask for feedback, dont expect a cooked list for urself.
